What Is Plasma Fibroblast Therapy?
Plasma fibroblast therapy is a non-invasive skin tightening procedure that targets fibroblasts—the collagen- and protein-producing cells found in the dermis (just below the skin’s outer layer).
The treatment uses a handheld pen-like device that emits a high-frequency electric current. This current doesn’t directly touch the skin; instead, it releases a focused arc of plasma just above the surface, creating controlled micro-injuries.
These tiny thermal disruptions stimulate the body’s natural healing response. The process:
- Breaks down damaged proteins in the skin
- Encourages tissue regeneration
- Stimulates fibroblast activity
- Triggers skin contraction and tightening
This technique is also referred to as plasma skin resurfacing. It's commonly used as an alternative to lasers or surgery for tightening and rejuvenating aging or loose skin.

Plasma Fibroblast Therapy – What You Need to Know
How Long Does It Last?
Fibroblast results can last as long as invasive surgery because it stimulates natural collagen and tightens skin. While it doesn’t stop future aging, results typically last for several years. You’ll notice improvement immediately and continuously over the next 4 weeks. Lifestyle habits like smoking, alcohol, and sun exposure may shorten the results.
How Many Treatments Are Required?
Most clients see visible improvement after one session. The number of treatments depends on the area, skin laxity, and desired outcome. Some individuals may opt for a second treatment after 8 weeks, but it’s rare to need more than two.
What Kind of Side Effects Can I Expect?
Plasma Fibroblast is non-invasive and safe when performed by a certified technician. Common side effects include small brown scabs in the treated area and mild swelling, particularly around the eyes. Scabs flake off within 5–10 days, revealing fresh new skin. Swelling typically subsides in 2–5 days. Following aftercare instructions is essential to minimize side effects.
Who Should Not Get Plasma Fibroblast Treatment?
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Diabetes or slow healing conditions
- Metal plates, pins, or implants
- Severe cardiovascular issues or high blood pressure
- Pacemaker or electrical medical devices
- Recent hemorrhage or ongoing malignancy
- History of chemotherapy within 3 years
- Prone to keloid scarring
- Autoimmune or immune-suppressing conditions
Always consult with your technician if you have any concerns.
What to Expect on Your Day of Treatment
Arrive with clean skin—no makeup or moisturizer. Take an antihistamine an hour before your appointment, and continue for 2–3 days post-treatment to reduce swelling. A topical numbing cream is applied and left on for 30–45 minutes. The treatment may cause slight heat or irritation. Swelling around the eyes may intensify for up to 2–3 days. Sessions last 45 minutes to several hours depending on the area. Aftercare instructions are provided and must be followed strictly. Avoid rubbing, scratching, exfoliators, and harsh cleansers.
Before Your Treatment
- Avoid tanning (spray, sun, beds, injections) for 2–4 weeks prior
- Use SPF 50 daily and consider a Tyrosinase Inhibitor if prone to pigmentation
- No facial acids (salicylic, glycolic) 14 days before or 21 days after
- No microneedling or PRP 21 days before or after
- No lasers or peels 90 days before or after (based on peel intensity)
- Wait at least 9 months post-op for surgical procedures (e.g., facelift)
Post-Treatment Care
You’ll receive detailed aftercare instructions. Crusting will develop and fall off within a few days—do not pick or scratch. Avoid makeup until crusts fall off. Use only antiseptic and provided aftercare creams as directed. You may resume makeup application once skin has healed fully.
