Permanent Eyeliner Aftercare Instructions

• Apply a very thin layer of A&D ointment or Aquaphor to the tattooed liner area as directed. This helps protect the skin, lock in moisture, support healing, and prevent the area from drying out too quickly. Keeping the area lightly moisturized helps support proper healing and pigment retention. Do not over-apply; too much ointment can cause excess moisture and interfere with healing.

• Your eyeliner will look darker, sharper, and more intense at first. This is normal.

• The eyeball itself may feel slightly irritated, watery, red, or sensitive for the first few days.

• Keep the area clean and gently cleanse only as instructed.

• Do not pick, rub, scratch, or pull at any flaking/scabbing.

• Around days 4–6, the liner may enter a “dot looking” phase where tiny scabs appear along the liner. Let them fall off naturally.

• Around days 7–21, the liner may look faded, patchy, uneven, or like it has disappeared. This is the “ghost phase” and is normal.

• Each eye may heal differently due to swelling and different healing patterns, so the liner may not look perfectly even at first.

• Color usually starts to return around weeks 4–6.

• Final healed results are usually seen around 6–8 weeks.

• Avoid sun, sweating, steam, saunas, swimming, and heavy moisture during healing.

• Use only the recommended aftercare balm, and apply a very thin layer if instructed.

• Everything will be balanced and perfected at your touch-up appointment.

• Contact us or an eye doctor right away if you have worsening eye pain, vision changes, severe redness, discharge, or increasing light sensitivity.
